Lyophilisation Process Development in Practice: A 3-Day Workshop
BTL has been running training courses in lyophilisation technology since 1997. Over that time the course content, format, location and structure has evolved to meet the requirements of our customers. Recently we have heard a number of requests for more “hands-on” training, to enable delegates to experience first-hand activities such as programming a freeze dryer, conducting an analysis, or evaluating dried product.
The challenge was to develop a training programme that suitably balanced theory with practice, allowing delegates to gain experience in the laboratory while making sure sufficient time was allocated to understand the fundamentals. We have been working on this programme since last year and are pleased to have finalised a timetable.
Working Through Development in Real Time
After an introduction to freeze drying, the course structure follows the process of freeze-drying development from formulation characterisation to post-process evaluation. Each classroom session is followed by time in the laboratory to illustrate the theories described. The class will load a freeze dryer and program a cycle and subsequently return to observe the process, unload the freeze dryer and conduct post-process evaluation and characterisation.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for personnel in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, diagnostics and food industries, who are involved in freeze drying formulation and cycle development and scale-up, including Formulation Scientists, Process Technicians, Microbiologists, Chemists and Pharmacists.
All lectures and laboratory sessions are conducted by experienced freeze-drying scientists. >>Meet the lecturers
